Sales and the continuing rape of the English Language

I have become highly enraged recently by adverts for sale claiming you could "save up to half price" or that there's "half price off". It's just apalling English, it's no wonder the ITV watching masses can't read, write or speak real English if they're bombarded with this shite day in day out.

Much as I hate a lot of things about overregulation I really believe there should be a body which makes sure everything prerecorded which goes out on TV (and similarly for print and radio) is free of the gramatical abominations you see above (not my post you cheeky beggars)- like a swarm of high powered Suzie Dents wiping out bad spelling and grammar.

Maybe it would mean kids who learn from the telly instead of books have a better idea of what constitutes a real sentence?
