Rambling entry No1.

Bare with me, this is going to be a post containing lots of things.

Rambling bit No1.

My A-Level results were better than I thought they'd be, but not as good as my sixth form wanted them to be. So, I'm getting a Job. Maybe at Game.

I could go into why I don't want to redo sixth form or why I don't want to do a BTEC.

But it would just bore the hell out of everyone and this isn't the place to do that.

Suffice to say I'm fucking annoyed.

Rambling bit No2.

Microsoft have announced that they are going to cut the U.S price of the 360  to $200 (£112).

This comes after a similar cut in Japan.
Now, obviously being european you would expect them to do a price cut over here too, wouldn't you?
No. No price cut planned. Sure there was the one in March but it's still alot more expensive than the U.S or Japanise version.
I'm not pissed off that much mainly because i've already got one, and because atleast were not in Australia.
But as Yahtzee says, he thinks of it as a "good beach tax" (Great game by the way)

Also i'm not that pissed off because I wouldn't expect anything else from Microsoft. Any game company come to think of it.

There's case after case of us getting royally screwed while America and Japan don't.
And don't think it will end soon.
The next big dashboard update for the 360 brings community games and streaming movies. Only for the american audience though.

It's bad enough that the Wii has brought casual gaming to everyone.
And that the Blu-Ray won the format wars.

But to have every other sort of media getting on gamers' arse's about "Violent Games" whilst giving rave reviews about the newest horro movie which is just as bad as any game. Is just downright annoying.
It seems like every week there's a new story about some teen mother buying her "Gentle and kind" son GTA or Manhunt or something, when it clearly says on the box the age needed to play the game.
Just how stupid are these people when they think that the nubers on the box mean, and I quote, "The difficulty rating of the game".
Sorry? What?
Just what do these people think they're buying with the title of GTA or Manhunt anyway.
"Laugh as the lovable Niko goes round the bright city of Liberty City, helping old grannies cross the road e.t.c e.t.c"
NO, It's pretty obvious that from the name "Grand Theft Auto" it's not going to be the kind of game you would want your kid to play.

Rambling bit No3.

Wheelies.

You know the things. Trainers, with wheels. If kids weren't hyperactive enough as it is to give them wheels is just insane.

 Rambling bit No4.

The BBC says that "Broadband will skip a generation. As in the places which still use dial-up should be the first to get fibre optic. Just read that last bit again. Who came up with this stupid idea?

Don't let the Man get you down

Point 1: Don't worry about grades mate... I got BUU for my A levels and it ended up being the best thing I ever did, academically speaking. Embarrassingly, I ended up on a Computing HND, which gave me the bitch slap I needed to get my arse in gear and to prove my worth to get on the Software Engineering Degree. When I did, I also wrote a Physics Engine in OpenGL for my major project, proving I actually was capable of understanding advanced Physics even though a piece of paper and a stupid exam would say otherwise.. it was also good enough for one of the largest games companies in the world to take me on before graduation ;)

Point 2: If you're sick of getting effed in the A in Europe, I'd recommend buying a cheap Japanese 360 and buying all your games from Play Asia, saying fuck you to the European middlemen and saving on average £15 a game. Most games are region free apart from generic and Evil EA shit so buying a NTSC-J console makes a lot of sense even if you like your sports games...

Point 3: Hockey stick to the jugular works every time when the little cunts come rolling towards you at high speeds... they'll never see it coming..

Point 4: Fucking ridiculous... the people to get it first should be the people who ISPs consider the Devil.. i.e. High Bandwidth users. Even the biggest porn downloaders would struggle to keep a 100mb+ connection at full whack 24/7... I should know... I lived with it in Korea for 6 months! ;)
