Merry christmas, and on with the usual posts
Why does every website in the known universe spruce up its logo for christmas? (except this one of course).
I mean, graphic designers must get loads of money over early December.
Here are some examples (i'm sure you'll know more):
www.google.com/
www.comet.co.uk/
Even http://www.i-am-bored.com/ has a little bit.
and www.xbox.com has a little christmas greeting thing.
The only place that isn't dressed up like a christmas tree is YouTube.
Now i'm no scrooge, but, why do they only do it for christmas?
Christians would go for the religious route, saying:
"It's the birth of Jesus" and all that lot.
So, I say, why only for christmas, not for easter or any other of your holidays?
I'll tell you why, because easter isn't as commercialised as Christmas, it's far, far, FAR, away from being as commercialised as that.
To which they reply: "You got time off didn't you?"
Oh great, I got time off, websites don't get spruced up for bank holidays do they?
No. The only reason they do it is because people will want to buy more stuff from them, end of story.
__________
On a lighter note, don't worry technology will be cheap again soon thanks to the January "sales".
