Amazing Stories (Rating 15 - Extreme Fantasy Violence and Sexual Euphemisms)

According to BBC News around 27% people don't know where Jesus (for it is he) was born? link. What I find quite amazing is that 73% actually know, the only thing which describes this most likely fictional character's birth place is the Bible, I would hardly say that is proof of anything...

Still at any rate based on the 2001 census figures (link I worked out that in England the number of people who said their religion was Christian (and therefore are likely to give a fuck in the first place) is approx 71% so what is it they are trying to prove.

It annoys me that as per-usual the fucking bible-bashing meat-heads are no doubt trying to use this to force more religious education in schools.

The most terrible offence is perhaps the last comment: "But, at the same time, if we are serious about social cohesion we can't afford to ignore the stories that have bound us together as a culture for 1,000 years."

What the fuck is this person talking about? Does he not know anything about British history at all? At worst the last non-christian ruler of England died in around 644CE so that surely makes it closer to 1400 years, but really has the person never read about the Reformation? Bloody Mary? The English Civil War? The Irish Rebellion? Need I go on? It seems Christianity has less kept us together more kept us apart. Fucking bible-bashers.

well still it means we all

well still it means we all have something to talk and argue about, im a catholic and proud and at the end of the day we wouldn't even have Christmas if it wasn't for Christianity and are you complaining about a random reason for presents and lavish food?

Why we have christmas in late December

Maybe we celebrate the birth of Christ because of Christianity but why do we celebrate it at the end of December? Bible doesn't mention anything about being born in December at all and there's no mention of a December celebration until Rome became "Christian". One thing is there is a cack load of pagan religions which celebrated the birth of the new year by offering presents to the gods and each on, guess when, December the 25th. A few days after the winter solstice.
Hope everyone has a happy Mithras day december 25th :)

It helped people to convert

It helped people to convert if they made the religious days the same as existing ones
